How to read the world view

Grey is not unimportant. Paint is coverage. Click a country to see rules, organisations, events — and the gaps.

The map has two views of the same corpus. Chain is producer to technology. World is the countries those rows sit in.

A dark country is one we have written down. A pale country is one we have not. That is coverage, not a ranking of how important the place is.

The European Union is not a country on the map. EU instruments colour every member state, and the panel says so, because membership is not the same as every EU rule binding every member the same way.

If you open a country and the panel is empty, send what you know or ask us to look. The research inbox is how a grey country becomes a row.
