Standardise large power transformer specifications across utilities so orders are interchangeable rather than bespoke.

A large share of the lead time is that almost every transformer is custom, which stops manufacturers from building to stock and makes a cancelled order worthless to the next buyer.

Wrong if · Lead times staying above three years in markets that have standardised, which would mean the constraint is core steel and winding capacity rather than specification churn.
